5202 SW Burton Drive is my kind of house. If you've ever driven up Burton Drive you'll know that it's a bit hidden and full of interesting architecture. This house is no exception. Designed by Roscoe Hemenway, (who was better known for his Colonial Revival style, but was equally adept at English Cottages, Tudor Revivals AND what we now call Mid-Century Moderns) now beautifully updated by Benjamin Silver, this mid-century modern is practically perfect in every way. All the rooms are airy, light filled volumes that elegantly flow from one to another. We all love big kitchens, with space for a dining table that can comfortably take 10 for thanksgiving dinner or two for supper (well I do anyway!). This kitchen has upper cabinetry that almost disappears as all your attention is taken by the expanse of windows giving to a tree filled view from which washing the dishes will become less of a chore and probably more zen. If I'm waxing a bit lyrical here it's because I am in love with this place. The living room has a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams, fireplace, deck and just begs to be sat in. Into the master bedroom there are french doors to the deck a lovely walk-in closet and a bathroom you just might never come out of..... downstairs it just keeps on going, you gotta come and see for yourself! Okay, I'll shut up and let you cruise through the pictures. Come and see me, SUNDAY 1-3pm. There's a virtual tour and lots more pictures here, and a list of features here.
